At Newhouse Gallery, we believe in blurring the boundaries between contemporary art and design. Our space is more than just a gallery; it’s a canvas that brings each piece to life by placing it in context and perspective, allowing each work to tell its own narrative. Our exhibitions, art programs, and events are designed to create a dynamic platform for both emerging and established artists with a particular focus on showcasing the Arts & Metiers of Dutch artists.
Newhouse Gallery began its journey in 2021 with a mission to support and elevate women artists within the art world. What started as a small initiative under the name MICK Agence quickly evolved into an inclusive agency representing a diverse range of visual arts. Founded by Mick Nieuwenhuis, the agency was born out of her passion for aesthetics and storytelling, with a deep commitment to bridging the gender gap in the art industry. By taking the role of an agent we went beyond the traditional gallery model by offering tailor-made, long-term strategies that connect artists with their audiences, campaigning for their success in innovative ways.
Moving beyond the traditional “white cube,” we aim to guide our visitors on a brief escape from their daily lives, lowering the threshold for entering a gallery space and creating a welcoming and warm environment, both for our clients as in our collaborations with artists as we believe that we can grow together and as a family.
