2112 began in 2016 as 2112 Art Advisory, operating from a small office in central Copenhagen. In the first years, the business evolved to include artist representation, with an early focus on supporting female artists. In 2019, they relocated to the industrial and culturally progressive Northwest district of Copenhagen to open their first showroom. This marked a pivotal moment, establishing 2112 as a visible presence on the Danish art scene.

In 2020, they expanded with an adjacent project space, enabling them to present curated and experimental exhibitions. The same year, they adopted the name 2112 to reflect their hybrid structure and broader scope. Following several years of growth in NV, in May 2023 they returned to the heart of Copenhagen to open their doors on Holbergsgade 20, where they present an ongoing program of curated exhibitions and display selected works in their showroom and office. In 2025, they expanded with a second location on Rådhusvej 1 in Charlottenlund, north of Copenhagen.
